Phygital Awakening

Phygital Awakening was a guided group meditation supported by mycelium materials with embedded electronics that augmented and enhanced the collective perception of participants heartbeats in the space. The projects focus was on using the body as an interface and shifting our relationship with technology and materiality from a distant one to a more conscious and intimate one.

Open to the community, multiple session of Phygital Awakening were held at Frizzant in Barcelona as a local action strategy to encourage discourse.

The mycelium yoga blocks and mycelium were created of locally sourced coffee waste as part of my masters thesis. The embedded electronics were a collaboration between Josefina Nano and myself with supporting help through the staff at Fab Lab Barcelona.
